SDG&E's proposed corridor would cut east-to-west through Temecula, with a 500-kilovolt line built to move power between Imperial Valley and a planned substation north of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS).
At roughly 200 feet, these towers would loom over the places Temecula families eat, sleep, learn, and play — threading behind backyards and alongside neighborhoods, parks, and schools, through Temecula Creek open-space conservation land, the Santa Margarita river, and land of Pechanga tribal and cultural significance.
